Triangle Law Group is now offering Pet Trusts! In addition to our standard estate planning package, which includes a Power of Attorney, Living Will, Basic Will, and Healthcare Durable Power of Attorney, we have expanded our practice area to include Pet Trusts.

Triangle Law Group is pleased to announce it will be a Corporate Sponsor for Second Chance Pet Adoptions!  The non-profit organization is the largest no kill animal rescue group in Wake County and has been in existence since 1987!  Triangle Law Group has always been pet friendly and encourages Clients to bring their pets to their office appointments.

Laurie Gengo, Managing Partner of Triangle Law Group, is one of ten authors of a recent book entitled "A Cup Of Coffee With 10 Leading Attorneys In The United States" published by Rutherford Publishing House.   Ms. Gengo's chapter takes about how her upbringing led her to own and run a successful law firm, and her firm's philosophy for practicing law. The book is available for sale on Amazon.

Laurie Gengo was a speaker at the 2016 review course for applicants taking the North Carolina exam to become a certified paralegal.  Ms. Gengo spoke about the North Carolina Rules of Civil Procedure.

Laurie Gengo was a recipient of Triangle Business Journal's 2015 Corporate Counsel Awards.  Ms. Gengo was one of two attorneys in private practice selected for this award.

Triangle Law Group was a sponsor for the 2015 Women's Empowerment Expo held at PNC Arena.  Laurie Gengo served on a panel with other women-owned businesses about How To Build A Successful Woman Owned Business.  The seminar was so well attended that there was standing room only!

Triangle Law Group continues to expand its construction, landlord-tenant and litigation practice. We are working with several homeowners and their contractors to resolve construction defect issues. We handle civil litigation cases of all sizes, in all courts, state and federal.

Laurie Gengo will again be teaching civil litigation to people preparing for their North Carolina paralegal certification. Ms. Gengo will be discussing the entire civil litigation process, starting with the lawsuit through the trial.

Triangle Law Group represents many clients who have been sued for credit card debts and foreclosure deficiency judgments. We prepare answers, negotiate settlements, hold mediations and work hard to resolve our clients' problems as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Triangle Law Group continues to contribute to the arts. Triangle Law Group is proud to be an "executive producer" of an album released in April 2015 by the world-renowned band 10,000 Maniacs. The band, based in Laurie Gengo's hometown of Jamestown, New York, released "Twice Told Tales" under the Cleopatra Record Label. Laurie Gengo traveled back home in September 2014 to attend a rare local concert by the band, where they played several songs from the new album. Below are some of our recent accomplishments and new cases:

  • Drafted various residential and commercial leases for consumers and businesses
  • Filed many liens for residential and commercial contractors and subcontractors
  • Resolved and negotiated settlements for several lawsuits against consumers for credit card debt and deficiency judgments after a foreclosure
  • Resolved several major landlord-tenant cases involving medical issues related to toxic mold, one against a major university in North Carolina
  • Represented North Carolina real estate brokers in disciplinary matters with the North Carolina Real Estate Commission
  • Helped many North Carolina residents start new businesses
  • Currently litigating several real estate construction defects, seeking to recover damages for misrepresentation, negligence, breach of contract, and unfair and deceptive trade practices
  • Resolved a complex contract dispute for a homeowner against two major banks for fraud and misrepresentation
  • Settled several landlord-tenant cases involving damages for personal injury and property damage due to toxic mold exposure

7/18/2008: Laurie Gengo spoke at a construction law seminar for Lorman Education

Triangle Law Group owner Laurie B. Gengo spoke at a seminar for Lorman Education. The seminar, "Managing Construction Projects," was held on July 18, 2008 in Raleigh, North Carolina, and discussed issues of relevance to the construction industry such as scheduling, personnel matters, contracts and dispute resolution. Ms. Gengo's presentation addressed practical tips for getting paid for work performed, as well as other legal issues of significance to construction professionals.

9/17/2008: Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County, Remodelers Council

Laurie Gengo presented a class for the Remodeler's Council, which is a section of the Raleigh-Wake County Home Builders Association. The Remodelers Council consists of general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers who are involved in residential remodeling projects. The class was held at Habitat for Humanity in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Sept. 17, 2008. The title of Ms. Gengo's presentation was "How to Increase Your Bottom Line" and addressed steps that remodelers can take to ensure that they get paid for the work they perform.

9/15/2009: Sterling Education, Landlord-Tenant Law Seminar

Laurie Gengo taught a class on landlord-tenant rights and the eviction process in North Carolina. Also discussed was new legislation in North Carolina impacting the leasing of real property.

5/11/2010: Sterling Education, Landlord-Tenant Law Seminar

Laurie Gengo spoke on recent developments in landlord-tenant law, mold issues and the eviction process. Other topics addressed were new laws on leasing real property and legislation impacting leases on foreclosed properties.

2/17/2011: Sterling Education, Landlord-Tenant Law Seminar

Laurie Gengo presented a class on recent developments in landlord-tenant law in North Carolina and the eviction process. Additionally, strategies and tools for collecting past-due rent were discussed.

4/7/2011: North Carolina Association of Women in Construction

Laurie Gengo presented a practical class on collections in North Carolina. Topics included lien and bond claims and filing lawsuits to collect monies owed.

10/7/2011: North Carolina Bar Association, Foreclosure Seminar

Laurie Gengo spoke at the NC Bar Association's seminar titled "Foreclosure: From Default to an REO". Ms. Gengo spoke on judgments and violations, including deficiency judgments and collections laws.

3/12/2012: North Carolina Bar Association, Foreclosure Defense Seminar

Laurie Gengo did a presentation on loss mitigation and other options and served on a legal panel that addressed recent developments in the area of foreclosure law.

3/15/2013: Lorman Education, Landlord-Tenant Law Seminar

Laurie Gengo spoke at a seminar about lease applications, lease terms, new landlord-tenant legislation and the eviction process.

3/14/2014: North Carolina Paralegal Certification Program
