Community Involvement

Triangle Law Group supports the community in many ways.

Triangle Law Group is serving as a Corporate Sponsor for Second Chance Pet Adoptions!  Second Chance is the oldest, most established no-kill animal rescue non-profit in North Carolina.  The organization’s goal is to provide homeless pets with their forever homes.

Triangle Law Group acted as a corporate sponsor for former Durham resident Shana Tucker’s debut album, “Shine.” Ms. Tucker sought grass-roots funding on IndieGoGo and after meeting her at a social outing, we learned about her passion and desire to record an album. That album has received rave reviews and helped launch Ms. Tucker’s career. She now lives in Las Vegas, but tours throughout the United States and occasionally comes back to her beloved Durham. Ms. Tucker’s unique music, which consists of her cello playing and melodic singing, is captivating. Check out her website at www.shanatucker.com.

Triangle Law Group contributed to 10,000 Maniacs’ latest project on Pledge Music. Many of you will remember this group as a breakout alternative band in the 1980s, when they toured throughout the world with many other bands such as R.E.M. Ms. Gengo was classmates with some of the band’s members at Jamestown High School in western New York. The band’s latest effort, “Twice Told Tales,” led to a new recording contract with Cleopatra Records. Triangle Law Group is listed as an executive producer of the album, and we are proud to have been part of this exciting project. Laurie Gengo traveled to Jamestown last September for a concert where the band performed many of the tracks from the album. You can check out the band’s music at www.maniacs.com.

Triangle Law Group also volunteers in the committee in many ways. Laurie Gengo participated in a panel discussion at the North Carolina Bar Center for “Camp Confidence,” a program for troubled students in Cary, North Carolina. The goal of the program is to educate troubled students as to careers and new opportunities. Ms. Gengo described what being a lawyer involves and answered questions for participants.

Additionally, Laurie Gengo participated in a program that provided free basic wills to elderly people who could not otherwise afford them.

Laurie Gengo continues to be a volunteer for Second Chance Pet Adoptions. She occasionally visits the cat facility, where she assists in feeding the cats and cleaning their litter boxes. Ms. Gengo has also adopted one Second Chance cat, Sterling.
